The Myths About

Heparin, Chondroitin sulfate

and Mucoitin sulfate

Several books describe the presence of heparin, chondroitin sulfate and mucoitin sulfate in the Kombucha ferment. But, as the following chromatograms show, these items are not found in Kombucha.

The first item in this chromatogram is the peak for Heparin on a 25 mAU scale.

Note its response time and shape.

The second item is Chondroitin sulfate.

The third item is Mucin.

The last two items are a commercial Kombucha ferment from ProNatura and a Kombucha ferment prepared by this author.

Note that none of the first three peaks are found in either the commercial Kombucha ferment or this author's home-grown Kombucha.
